The Ford Taunus followed the American models in its design, but it was the first own developed car of Ford Germany. 7,100 exemplars were manufactured from 1939 to 1942.
Some further exemplars were made in the Latvian Ford works in Riga under the name Ford-Vairogs. Due to the breakout of World War II, a larger success was not possible. The Ford Taunus was propelled by a 1.2 litre, four-cylinder , 34 HP engine.
