In 1899, Sigmund Bergman founded a company for the production of electrical goods in Berlin after he had gathered experience in America from Th. A. Edison. In 1909, an automobile company was affiliated which was integrated into the enterprise one year later. Commercial vehicles were made with petrol engines and electric motors. During World War I, 3.5 and 4.5 tons lorries were made for the Army. In 1922, production of commercial vehicles with petrol engines was stopped. From that time on, only vehicles with electro motors were made.
