138 exemplars of the Artilleriezugauto M. 17 - an artillery towing vehicle - of the Austrian Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft were manufactured from 1917 to July 1918. After the end of World War I, most of them had to be handed over to the victorious powers. The remaining vehicles were retrofitted with solid rubber tyres, later. After the Anschluss, these vehicles were taken over by the Wehrmacht. Further exemplars were captured during the Balkans campaign. The vehicle had all-wheel drive and a towing capacity of 4 to 5 tons.
