Commercial lorries with about 9 tons payload and closed superstructure were designated Lastkraft- wagen 9t, geschlossen - lorry 9 tons, closed. In this payload class, the vehicles were exclusively drawn in formerly civilian vehicles or captured vehicles. In the second half of war, no vehicles of this class were manufactured in Germany. Lkw 9t, geschlossen were mainly used by transportation battalions and regiments. Some of these vehicles were used as Kühlkraftwagen - refrigerator lorry - for the transportation of meat and dairy products.
