Commercial lorries with about 5 tons payload were designated Lastkraftwagen 5t, offen - lorry 5 tons, open. In this payload class, the vehicles were exclusively drawn in formerly civilian vehicles or vehicles which were made in the occupied territories. In the second half of war, no vehicles of this class were manufactured in Germany. Lkw 5t, offen were mainly used by transportation battalions and regiments.
