Commercial lorries with closed superstructure and about 3 tons payload, which were manufactured according to S (4x2 drive) criteria, were designated Lastkraftwagen 3t, geschlossen - lorry 3 tons, closed. Mainly, the LC-Koffer of the Luftwaffe was used which was also used by the army. The usage was specified in the appropriate K.St.N. Lkw 3t, geschlossen were used for example as battery charger motor vehicle, as signals workshop motor vehicle, as telex motor vehicle, as office motor vehicle, as laboratory motor vehicle and as ambulance.
