Commercial lorries with closed superstructure and about 3 tons payload, which were manufactured according to A (4x4 drive) criteria, were designated Lastkraftwagen 3t, geschlossen, gl - lorry 3 tons, closed, cross-country. Mainly, the Einheits-Kofferaufbau - standard box body - of the army was used (upper photo). Sometimes, the army used the LC-Koffer of the Luftwaffe (lower photo).

Lkw 3t, geschlossen, gl were used for example as command post motor vehicle, as telephone operation motor vehicle, as amplifier motor vehicle, as weather motor vehicle, as survey party motor vehicle, as workshop motor vehicle and as equipment motor vehicle.
