For the quick supply with ammunition of the Geräte 040 and 041, the Munitionsschlepper für Karl Gerät - ammunition carrier for Karl device - was created. Seriel chassis of the Panzer IV (Ausf. D, E and F) were used. Two Munitionsschlepper were available for every Karl Gerät.
