Because the development works on the Heuschrecke 10 and the Grille 10 didn’t succeed, it was decided to mount the turret of the Heuschrecke onto the chassis of the Geschützwagen III/IV in May 1943.One trial vehicle of the Heuschrecke IVb was finished until 11th October 1943. Several technical changes were made until May 1944. A short time later, the development was rejected. The trial vehicle was captured by US forces at the end of the war. (Photo: NARA)
