The mittlerer Fernsprechpanzerwagen - medium telephone armoured personnel carrier - (Sd. Kfz. 251/11) was developed in 1942. It was used as combat vehicle by a mittlerer Panzer- fernsprechtrupp - medium armoured telephone squad. The Lager - mountings - for Rückentrage - carrying frames - for cable reels with each 300 m heavy field cable on the forward mudguards were typical for this variant.
