Basically, the Werkstattkraftwagen - workshop motor vehicle - had a geschlossener Aufbau - closed superstructure - with Aufsatzbrettern - attachment boards - and as chassis the Opel Blitz 3.6-6700 A. Different equipment sets could be built in according to the usage. (image from D 622/1)

For example, there was a Werkstattkraftwagen for Kfz. Inst. Staffel or le. Kfz. Inst. Zug, the Werkstattkraftwagen I and II for Kfz. Elektro-Instandsetzung and a Werkstattkraftwagen for Kfz. Reifen Instandsetzung.

To increase the working space, a Werkstattzelt - workshop tent - could be attached to the rear of the superstructure. The illustrated photo was made in July 1943.
