In 1942, the Sonderausrüstung Tropen - special equipment for tropical operation - was introduced for several vehicle types. In the main, it consisted of an additional Filzbalgfilter - felt bellow air filter - with its connection pipes which was developed by the company Mann & Hummel GmbH. The Filzbalgfilter replaced the Ölbadluftfilter - oil bath air filter. The Filzbalgfilter was mounted to the left forward mudguard in the case of the Opel Blitz 3.6-6700 A. (All images from D 635/46)
