Starting in 1937, the Opel Blitz 3.6-42 with a lengthened wheelbase of 4.2 m was manufactured. Different angels on photos make differentiation to the standard Opel Blitz 3.6-36 S difficult. The illustrated kitchen lorry is an Opel Blitz 3.6-42 identified by the dropsides with four sections.

This formerly civilian Opel Blitz 3.6-42 with a number plate of Thuringia had some interesting details. It had a non-production line driver’s cab and different width indicators.

The Opel Blitz in this photo is an Opel Blitz 3,6-42 lorry with a wheelbase of 4.2 m, too. This formerly civilian vehicle with box body was used by a medical unit of 13. Panzer Division.
