leichter Zugkraftwagen 3t (Sd. Kfz. 11) mit Artillerieaufbau

The first le. Zgkw. 3t (Sd. Kfz. 11) with Artillerieaufbau (artillery superstructure) were made in 1936 based on the trial series of the HL kl 5 chassis. Further serial vehicles were delivered in 1936. A part of these vehicles (maximally 40) were later converted for other trial series.

This first artillery superstructure had a closed driver’s cab. The ammunition compartment was raised so more ammunition could be carried. Apparently, the first 140 serial vehicles based on the H kl 6 chassis had this artillery superstructure, too. About 20 vehicles were exported to Hungary.
