In the year 1936, a trial series of five chassis of the Hansa Lloyd HL kl 5 was manufactured, followed by 35 serial vehicles in 1937. The vehicle was propelled by a Hansa 3500 petrol engine with an output of 70 HP. The inner road wheels without holes and the outer road wheels with oval holes and stiffening ribbs was typical.
