The leichte Schützenpanzerwagen (s.Gr.W) (Sd. Kfz. 250/7) was most probably made beginning in early 1942. There were three different variants. The Zugführerwagen - platoon leader vehicle - had a crew of five and was armed with a MG 34 with an armoured shield. In addition, a range finder was available. The Truppführerwagen - squad leader vehicle - had a crew of four and was armed with a 8 cm Gr.W. 34 and a MG 34. The MG 34 had no armoured shield. The Munitionsfahrzeug - ammunition vehicle - had a crew of five and was armed with a MG 34 with an armoured shield. All three variants had mountings for the 8 cm Gr.W. 34 and 22 ammuntion boxes for each 3 grenades. (Photo: NARA)
