The leichter Schützenpanzerwagen (s. PzB 41) (Sd. Kfz. 250/11) was made beginning early in 1942. This version was intended as mobile anti tank weapon for the motorised infantry and the Kradschützen. According to K.St.N. 1127 (gp) from November 1941, each Panzerjäger-Gruppe (tank hunter group) had three Sd. Kfz. 250/11. This Sd. Kfz. 250/11 was used by division Großdeutschland. This design was a failure because of the low effective range of the 2.8 cm s. PzB 41. Therefore, production was omitted early in 1943. The gun shield of the 2.8 cm s. PzB 41 of this Sd. Kfz. 250/11 of a unit of the Waffen-SS was enlarged to provide better protection to the gunner.
