Beginning in 1941, the Funklenkeinheiten - radio remote units - received Panzerkampfwagen III as remote control vehicles. The additional radio remote equipment was stored in an armoured box at the rear of the turret. The Panzerkampfwagen III (Funk) - battle tank III (radio) - (Sd. Kfz. 141) were converted using serial vehicles of the Panzerkampfwagen III (Sd. Kfz. 141) of the Ausführungen J, L and N.
