Because only about 200 exemplars of the mittlerer Sprühkraftwagen - medium spraying vehicle for liquid poison gas - (Sd. Kfz. 11/3) were made, photos of it are rare. The Bauart - production model - 1938 had an open driver’s cab with canvas top and a narrow equipment cabinet. The tank for the liquid poison gas had a capacity of 900 litres. To hide the liquid poison gas tank and to protect it from the weather, it could be covered with a tarpaulin. (Image from für Heerestaktik Band 2)

The Bauart 1939 had a closed driver’s cab and a much broarder equipment cabinet. The illustrated Sd. Kfz. 11/3 was used for testing an Entgiftungspflug 41 (decontamination plough 41). The bars on the platform – which were used to mount or to dismount the tank for the fluid agent – are clearly visible.
