The Funkkraftwagen - radio motor vehicle - (Kfz. 2), abbreviated Fu. Kw. (Kfz. 2), based on the Einheitsfahrgestell I für l. Pkw. - standard chassis I for light passenger cars - resp. Einheitsfahrgestell I für l. Pkw. Typ 40 - standard chassis I for light passenger cars type 40 - differed from the l. gl. Pkw. (Kfz. 1). The chassis had the same specifications but it had only three doors and three seats.

An additional equipment box was located on the position of the fourth door of the Kfz. 1. The radio equipment was mounted on this equipment box. Contrary to the Kfz. 1, the equipment box on the rear had an angular rearside.

The Fu. Kw. (Kfz. 2) based on the m. Pkw. (o) - medium passenger car (commercial) - Mercedes- Benz Type 170 VK had a very similar superstructure. In this photo, the additional equipment box and the mounting of the antenna on the left side are clearly visible. Fu. Kw. (Kfz. 2) based on the l. Pkw. (o) - light passenger car (commercial) - could not be found until now.

Based on the l. Pkw. Typ K 1 - light passenger car type K 1 - VW Typ 82, the Fu. Kw. (Kfz. 2) had also an additional equipment box but it had the standard car body with four doors. (Image from D 827/1)
