The Funkkraftwagen - radio motor vehicle - (Kfz. 15), abbreviated Fu. Kw. (Kfz. 15), corresponded widely to the m. gl. Pkw. (Kfz. 12). Most of the Fu. Kw. (Kfz. 15) were delivered based on the Einheitsfahrgestells für m. Pkw. - standard chassis for medium passenger car - and the Einheitsfahrgestells für m. Pkw. Typ 40 - standard chassis for medium passenger car type 40.

Based on the m. Pkw. (o) - medium passenger car (commercial) - for example the Stoewer M 12 RW, the Fu. Kw. (Kfz. 15) was a rare vehicle. Beginning in 1942, the l. gl. Lkw (o) - light cross- country lorry (commercial) - was also used as Fu. Kw. (Kfz. 15). Such vehicles were often a Steyr 1500 A. The superstructure was that of a standard Mannsch. Kw. (Kfz. 70) with additional radio equipment.
